Politiko, Nicosia, Cyprus
The minimalist approach of this house is perfectly reflected in the simplicity of the volumetric and the materials. In contrast to the facade where the openings are limited to the minimum necessary, the parallel face of the inner courtyard is characterized by permeability. Large openings in all areas on both levels of the building create the feeling of larger spaces. The connection to the garden offers unlimited options for use most of the time. In certain parts of the house in front of the openings, free standing perforated concrete walls have been designed. They allow daylight to enter the house but at the same time create a sense of privacy.
