Municipal building

Tseri, Nicosia, Cyprus

The building is the proposal for the offices, municipal theater and library of the Municipality of Tseri through an architectural competition. The building program is divided into two building wings, creating intermediate open spaces between them but also natural continuations and uses on the roof of the theater, as a public green space to restore the building's footprint for use by the local community. The amphitheatrical aspect in relation to the planting elements facilitates the access to the roof park but also creates a meeting place or the holding of small events. Due to the site planning of the building, large open spaces and plazas are created around the perimeter, facilitating access and increasing the functional uses of the building in the context of social participation. The building is designed to be zero energy consumption.
