House 12221

Dromolaxia, Larnaca, Cyprus

Crafted with a reverence for geometric purity, this residence emerges as a sculptural entity, its forms a bold punctuation against the muted palette of its environment. Clad in materials that speak to both the future and the past, it presents a façade that is as much a canvas for the play of light as it is a barrier against the elements.

At the heart of the design lies a courtyard, a secluded expanse where the linear rigidity of the architecture gives way to the organic fluidity of water. Here, a reflective pool serves as a still nexus, a focal point around which the residence's life revolves. Above, a sculpted canopy floats – an undulating plane that captures the shifting character of natural light, its form a tribute to the innovation of modern engineering.

The residence’s transitions are seamless, with living areas opening onto this central courtyard, each frame a meticulously composed vignette of the serene tableau outside. By night, these spaces are transformed by a constellation of strategically placed lights, each one a sentinel that animates the architecture and lends the surfaces a gentle glow.

Internally, the residence is a gallery of curated views, with swathes of marble set against expanses of glass and rich wooden textures.

This project eschews the conventional, offering instead a habitat that challenges perceptions and provokes a reconsideration of the residential form. It stands as a testament to the power of architectural vision, a structure that is at once a shelter, a statement, and a piece of livable art.
