House 14521
Alambra, Nicosia, Cyprus
The architecture of this residential project is a sophisticated symphony of textures and volumes, offering a fresh interpretation of contemporary design. Clad in a rich palette of materials, the residence presents an interplay of wood, glass, and concrete that speaks to both modernity and warmth.
Wooden slats create a rhythmic facade, offering privacy while allowing for glimpses of the interior warmth and strategically filtering natural light. This organic texture contrasts with the sleek glass panels that dissolve the barriers between indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting the landscape into the living areas.
The architecture is characterized by a series of interlocking volumes, each defined by a different material, creating a visual narrative that unfolds as one moves around the property.
Internally, the design prioritizes openness and fluidity, with spaces flowing into one another. This is punctuated by the bold structural frames which create a dialogue between the different areas of the house. The overhanging eaves and cantilevered volumes not only contribute to the dynamic aesthetic but also serve functional roles, providing shade and creating sheltered outdoor spaces.
The illumination strategy enhances the textural interplay, with recessed lighting casting a soft glow on the wooden facades and spotlights accentuating the architectural lines and planes
