House 9120
Lakatamia, Nicosia, Cyprus
House 9120 characterized by clean lines and a harmonious integration with the surrounding environment. The architecture embodies a modern aesthetic with its use of cubic volumes and flat roofing, which create a striking visual statement against the backdrop of lush greenery.
Materials play a key role in the design, with the juxtaposition of concrete, wood, and glass creating a dialogue between solidity, warmth, and transparency. The façade features a blend of smooth white render and wooden slats, adding depth and texture while providing privacy and shade. This contrast is softened by the extensive use of glass, which not only invites natural light into the interior spaces but also establishes a seamless indoor-outdoor connection, especially in areas overlooking the pool.
The pool is a central feature of the design, with its calm, reflective surface enhancing the sense of serenity that permeates the property. Adjacent to the pool, the outdoor living spaces, including a patio and sun loungers, are designed to encourage relaxation, epitomizing the luxury of indoor comfort in an outdoor setting.
The layout of the house is evidently thoughtful, with living areas and private quarters strategically placed to maximize views and sunlight. Overhangs and cantilevered sections are not only visually impactful but also provide functional benefits such as shade and shelter.
Patterns emerge in the repetition of vertical and horizontal lines, seen in features such as the fencing, louvers, and the alignment of windows and doors, which contribute to the visual rhythm of the design. The lighting, subtly integrated within architectural elements, enhances the structure’s geometry by night and adds a warm, inviting glow to the property.
