Livadia Residences
Livadia, Larnaca, Cyprus
This apartment complex stands as a testament to contemporary architectural sophistication, integrated seamlessly into its urban context. It features a pragmatic yet elegant design that spans three floors above an accessible ground floor dedicated to parking. The complex houses a total of 15 apartments, each benefiting from expansive glass windows that not only offer generous natural light but also create a visual continuity between the interior spaces and the urban landscape.
Materially, the building exhibits a thoughtful juxtaposition of textures and finishes. The dominant use of concrete provides a robust and sturdy framework, conveying a sense of permanence and resilience. This is softened by the strategic incorporation of aluminium elements, which add warmth to the façade and create an inviting ambiance. The aluminium beam panels serve not only as an aesthetic feature but also as functional sunshades, modulating light and providing privacy for the residents.
Architecturally, the structure is characterized by clean lines and geometric forms that create a rhythmic pattern across the façade. Cantilevered balconies and sharply defined rectilinear forms break the monotony, adding depth and shadow that change with the sun’s movement, animating the building’s appearance throughout the day.
An essential aspect of the design is its commitment to greenery, as evidenced by the landscaped elements that adorn the building.
The material palette, the architectural language, and the integrated greenery coalesce to form a residence that not only provides for its occupants but also enhances the built environment, standing as an emblem of contemporary residential design.
