Polart Residences
Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus
This new residential edifice, with its three floors, is a beacon of modern architectural design, housing six exclusive apartments. The building’s commanding presence is softened by the organic drapery of lush greenery that adorns its balconies, creating a living façade that breathes life into the concrete and steel. Each balcony is illuminated with subtle lighting that accentuates the plant life, contributing to the building’s dynamic interplay with light and shadow.
The structure’s design is a thoughtful assembly of straight lines and rectangular forms, with expansive glazing cutting through the façade, offering residents panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Concrete, a material chosen for its modern appeal and enduring qualities, dominates the construction. Its raw texture stands in contrast to the refined woodwork that frames the balconies and windows, adding a touch of natural elegance. These materials are not merely functional; they are part of a larger aesthetic language that speaks to the building’s contemporary ethos.
Vertical gardens cascade down the exterior, not only enhancing the aesthetic appeal but also contributing to the ecological aspirations of the design, promoting biodiversity and sustainability.
